Adelaide Wedding Celebrants

Before you engage in correspondence with a celebrant, ask yourself what atmosphere and vibe do we want to create for our ceremony? Do you want it to be official and boring, or would you like it to be FUN, STRESS FREE and ENGAGING while taking the focus and pressure off you both and a wedding to be talked about for years to come. Not many Celebrants have the ability, nor experience to engage an audience and find it quite uncomfortable. The celebrant and music production will set the tone and vibe for your entire wedding ceremony and reception!

To plan the perfect wedding, you need to surround yourself with the perfect team of suppliers.

Your chosen wedding suppliers will play a pivotal role in your day, so it’s important to do your research and choose the right people for the job. Particularly when it comes to the very person who will actually be making your marriage official, your wedding celebrant! All Celebrants aren’t equal!

NOTE: “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten”

Choosing a wedding celebrant is an extremely personal decision. This is the person that will be standing alongside you at your wedding ceremony, during the most intimate, nerve-wracking and exciting moments of the day.

The perfect celebrant will be able to communicate well with your guests and set the right ambience for your ceremony, while also helping to keep you cool under pressure.

Not only should your wedding celebrant be there to support and celebrate with you, there are also many hours of behind-the-scenes planning and paperwork involved before the ceremony. This means your chosen celebrant will need to be highly organised, confident, knowledgeable and detail-oriented.

That’s a lot of boxes to tick, so it’s important to do your research upfront to find the best celebrant for your own special day! But with so many different options out there when it comes to wedding celebrants, where do you even begin with choosing your own?

WHAT QUESTIONS SHOULD I ASK MY CELEBRANT

We’ve compiled some helpful tips and insight below, including a checklist of must-ask questions. This should help you narrow down your search for the perfect celebrant!

To make your job easier we have also answered the questions for you to help assist in your decision!

Are you available on my wedding date?

What are your fees and what does this include?

(Your celebrant should have clear packages that you can choose from depending on your budget and your requirements)

Are there any additional costs to be aware of?

(There should be no additional costs after you have agreed on what it is you require of your celebrant)

Are you officially registered and qualified?

Your celebrant must by law be registered and qualified and also be passionate about being the best!)

What kind of paperwork do you require from us, eg. birth certificates, ID?

(This information will vary from couple to couple but don’t worry, you will have the time to gather this together and/or celebrant will help you with all of the legal requirements and guide you through the process)

What is your process when it comes to writing the ceremony? Is it collaborative with us or do you work from a standard template?

(Great celebrants want to make your day exactly the way you want it to be. They will work collaboratively with you and give you advice and tips to make your ceremony perfect for you. They will make sure that all of the legal requirements are included so that this is stress free for you)

Can we read over the ceremony before the day?

(You will have a copy of your ceremony, that your celebrant has collaboratively written, in plenty of time before your big day. This will give you the chance to read it through, practice all of your parts and review anything that you would like to change. your celebrant will sign off on what you are happy with and this is what you will be hearing during your ceremony)

How will you personalise our ceremony to reflect us as a couple?

Part of being a great celebrant is the ability to sit down with a couple and talk to them! During these conversations they will discuss the really important things that make your relationship unique and special. It is this information that will form the core of the words that will be spoken on the day. your celebrant will always be there to give you advice and tips on how to put your thoughts on paper but the day and the words will be yours)

What do you want to know about us as a couple?

(The where you met, the uniqueness of your love and your story and what you would like everyone on your special day to see and hear about you! Your celebrant will want to make this a personal story about the two of you)

Do you have a PA system and microphone?

(For great celebrants this is of paramount importance. the single most popular dislike is family and friends can’t hear the audio. There is nothing worse than bad sound and your guests not being able to hear what is going on. They are there as witnesses to your wedding and the sound quality is an important aspect in facilitating this. be sure to ask about the quality of the PA system, microphones and music quality)

Do you have a signing table and signing chairs?

(This comes standard as part of most celebrants packages)

Do you have insurance?

(Simply the answer should always be….Yes!)

Do you require a ceremony rehearsal?

(A ceremony rehearsal is always a good idea. It provides piece of mind for all involved and makes sure that there are no unnecessary surprises on the day)

What will your role be on the day?

(Consider your celebrant to like the conductor of the wedding orchestra. We will do whatever it takes to make the ceremony run smoothly. They will obviously work with all of the other suppliers there and make sure that you as the most important people on the day, are happy and enjoying the moment!)

What happens if you are unwell or there is an emergency on the day? Do you have a backup celebrant and how will this work?

(One of the advantages of choosing a reputable celebrant is that they work together. in a close network. Most celebrants are there to help each other and are always of the highest quality. If they ever have an emergency on the day of your wedding, they will never let you down for such an important occasion. We have a great network of Adelaides best Wedding Celebrants)

Can you offer assistance with writing our wedding vows?

(Yes. That is why they should listen to what you say and can then assist in putting your words of love in writing. This is always a pure joy to do)

How well do you deal with any unexpected problems on the day?

(With years of wedding experience behind us, and the ability to call on the resources of our team,  we will always find a way to overcome these problems that inevitably will occur in life. We take a deep breath, we smile and we get on with it!)

Do you take more than one ceremony booking per day? What does this mean for us if our schedule is running behind?

(Your celebrant will always leave enough time to compensate for the unexpected schedule changes that can occur. If we do have more than one booking for a day then we would never put a wedding at risk. This makes it stress free for both the couple and for us!)

What do you love the most about being a celebrant?

(Most celebrants love being the facilitator of creating magical, loving and special ceremonies. It is always a privilege that they never forget to be allowed to be part of a couple’s commitment to each other. Our celebrants believe that they do it the best and always strive to deliver what they promise)
